What We Collect

Whereabouts processes account details needed for authentication and billing, plus comparison and booking request usage counts tied to your account plan.

When you run a comparison, the extension sends single_hotel_details data from the supported single_hotel_details page, including name, location, and pricing details, to compute comparison results.

Extension Data Handling

The extension reads single_hotel_details data only on supported providers (Hotels.com and Priceline) to run comparisons that you initiate.

For optional booking workflows, Whereabouts may temporarily apply market routing on supported domains. This routing is session-based and disconnects automatically.

Chrome Permission Use

storage is used for local extension state (for example, temporary session metadata).

Host permissions are used only on supported hotel domains to read single_hotel_details required for comparisons, and on Whereabouts API endpoints to request comparison and booking workflow actions.

proxy, webRequest, and webRequestAuthProvider are used only for optional booking-workflow routing on supported domains.

Payments

Whereabouts does not collect or store your payment card details for hotel bookings. You complete payment directly on the booking provider website.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the product, including authentication, subscription billing, database/storage, application hosting, and optional booking-workflow routing support.
